Dubai, United Arab Emirates – November 16th, 2021 – At the Dubai Air Show this week, i5 Services will announce its supply chain platform, CONNEX Marketplace, as a solution to the global supply chain crisis.  The platform has the ability to solve many current supply chain issues such as finding alternate local suppliers, discovering new material sources and locating regional manufacturers based on their capabilities, equipment, certifications and more. Representatives from i5 Services will present this new solution, along with case studies of its use, on Wednesday, November 17th at 2:00 PM (GST Dubai) at the U.S. Pavilion stage (#1385) within the Dubai Air Show exhibit hall.

CONNEX Marketplace was developed over 10 years ago as a way to help connect regional supply chains in the United States.  It was first built to meet the growing needs of the U.S. government to catalog all U.S. manufacturers and suppliers according to their capabilities and what they could make, not just what they were currently making. This led to the creation of CONNEX Marketplace as the central database containing all U.S. manufacturers along with their equipment, processes, certifications, capabilities, location and more.

“For the last 10 years we’ve been working with industry to build a solution that would connect U.S. manufacturing capabilities in a way that’s never been done before. It’s very similar to a LinkedIn type platform, which has become the central platform where people list and update all of their qualifications and experience. The LinkedIn data is then utilized many different ways to connect people to more opportunities. CONNEX Marketplace is very similar to that process but with a much deeper set of data that can be used to connect manufacturers and suppliers to new opportunities that couldn’t otherwise be realized. During the Dubai Air Show, the CONNEX Marketplace presentation will explain how the platform works along with sharing case studies of how it’s being used to alleviate supply chain problems amongst various regions of the United States.  Currently, 5 states have implemented the marketplace platform among their manufacturing industry as a way to help grow the industry within their state.  States that have connected the platform at their local level are: Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Florida and Utah.  Several other states will also be implementing the platform within their location soon.

Additionally, i5’s presentation at the air show will discuss their extensive manufacturing partner network with organizations and associations such as the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST MEP), 100+ state and regional manufacturing associations, Economic Development Offices, Chambers of Commerce and more.  These partnerships ensure that all manufacturers and suppliers are active and up-to-date within the CONNEX Marketplace database.
